The performance ratio of a solar plant is the energy it actually produced divided by the energy it would have produced if it converted the measured plane of array irradiance at its rated efficiency. It is shown as a percentage and removes the effect of weather, so plants and periods can be compared. Its accuracy depends directly on the irradiance sensors.
