IEC 61724-1 is the international standard for monitoring the performance of photovoltaic systems. It defines three accuracy classes; Class A is the highest and is expected for utility-scale plants. It sets which sensors to use (for example pyranometer classes), how many, where to mount them, how often to sample and how to check and clean the data.
