Plane of array irradiance is the solar power arriving on a surface tilted and oriented the same way as the plant's modules, in watts per square metre. It is measured by a pyranometer mounted in the plane of the modules (on the tracker, for tracking plants) and is the reference used to calculate a solar plant's performance ratio.
